Arup has appointed Edmond Asis as Philippines leader to guide its business into its next phase of growth.
Arup has appointed Edmond Asis to lead its business and operations in the Philippines with a view to accelerate support for the nation’s infrastructure and sustainable growth agenda.
Asis’s appointment comes as the Philippines accelerates investment in infrastructure, urbanisation and climate adaptation. In this role, Asis will lead Arup’s Philippines business, focusing on strengthening client partnerships, government agencies and industry stakeholders, while expanding the firm’s multidisciplinary capabilities and nurturing local talent to meet evolving market needs.
With nearly 20 years at Arup, Asis brings significant institutional knowledge, strong technical expertise and a proven track record of delivering complex projects across the built environment. He has played a key role in shaping Arup’s presence in the Philippines, contributing to projects that support the country’s rapid urban development and long-term resilience. His portfolio spans major developments across the Philippines, including the Mactan Cebu International Airport, the National Museum of Natural History, The Seasons Residences, Procter & Gamble Cabuyao Plant and Our Lady of Lourdes Chapel, reflecting his breadth of experience across sectors.

A civil and structural engineer, Asis specialises in structural and seismic design. He has been a strong advocate for resilient and future-ready infrastructure in the Philippines, with a focus on integrating sustainability and digital innovation into engineering delivery. He also led efforts to advance digital transformation in Arup’s Manila office, championing design automation and innovation in engineering delivery.
